Lessons from Day Trading thus far

Recently I’ve begun day trading, it has rapidly become a fun thing to do in the morning before work. I’m even waking up around 7am without an alarm just to check to see how the market opened and decide if there is enough change to get out of bed and begin finding the “deal for the day”. I’ve also learned a number of lessons that I’ll share with you all now about day trading.

Back to “Church”

I’ve recently picked soccer back up and it is totally appropriate that we play at 8am on Sundays. When I set foot on the pitch it is just like going to church. Soccer is something that has been integrated into my core and I somehow feel like a piece of Dan is missing when I’m not playing. Needless to say it has been fantastically fun and the group I’m playing with is awesome. We are currently the second ranked team in our league and we just played the first place team, only to tie them 1 to 1 in a heart breaker of a match.

I’m still keeping with my stepped up climbing schedule and I’m seeing massive improvements everyday. I can pretty much ascend any V4 with a bit of work. I’m getting closer on quite a few V5’s so I’m slowly working my way up in the world. I have some pending pictures and videos from our last outing to Priest Draw on Oct 10th. It was so cold, but rather worth it.

My current activities schedule has me climbing Mon, Tues, Thurs, Sat, Sun, Running or playing soccer Weds, Fri, Sun.
Tuesday nights has turned into Jazz night at The Vig after climbing, Friday nights are Rock Band Nights and I’m thinking I’m going to add Yoga back into the Mix on Thursdays after climbing.
So if you ever wonder what I’m doing, that about summarizes it.
Having a personal life is great.

Leveraging ourselves to Hell and back?

Anyone who has been following the stock market could describe the activity of late as Chaotic. If you do any historical analysis by just looking back to the beginning of the year, you will find that most stocks are down 30-50% just from the beginning of the year. In my previous article I explained how Cash will be king, even more so then it already is, as banks tighten up on loans. This gets to my point, the reason we have seen such a drastic drop in stock prices is because investors have pulled out to get cash.

When I woke, I realized I was in a dream

Recently I’ve been reading the Sandman graphic novel I also caught a few clips out of Stranger Then Fiction. The intersection of these two tangent lines has created quite an interesting reaction.

The Sandman has awoken that side of madness in me I will dive into in my old age. Stranger Then Fiction touched on those thoughts of “How would I live my life if I knew I were dying three months from now?” Between a chaotic madness and the idea of a soon approaching death, you really start to come up with some very odd ideas. Madness is great because it really allows you to side step the whole, consequences of actions and allows you to act however you really think you should be acting at that moment. Impending death is really just that same kind of side stepping of consequences.
